We are #loboproud of the Little Elm High School choir students and the Lakeside Middle School band students for outstanding performances at this year's UIL Concert and Sight-reading Contest. "This is the equivalent of the STAAR assessment for our Fine Arts performing ensembles," said Frank Felice, director of Bands and Music coordinator for Little Elm ISD.
The LEHS Choir took two ensembles to UIL Contest this year:
Treble Chorus & Mixed Chorus.
The Mixed Chorus performed received a Sweepstakes, or straight ones, from all six judges! This is the highest score awarded by UIL. The Treble Chorus was very close, but received an Excellent rating on stage, with a Superior in Sight-reading. Congratulations to these talented students and their amazing teachers, Karen Mayberry and Jake Kassen. "There are great things happening with our LEHS Choirs," said Felice.
The Lakeside MS Bands also performed at UIL over the past two weeks. The Honors Band received a Sweepstakes for the second consecutive year. The Symphonic Band had their best performance of the year and received an excellent rating overall. Congratulations to these students and their wonderful teachers, Meredith Carter, Jay McKellar, Donald Gee, and Kaleen Hernandez.
